Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

The Columbia River Gorge's location makes it the perfect spot for windsurfers.

The surrounding cliff walls and depth of the Gorge allow it to function like a wind tunnel, as differential weather patterns east and west of the Cascade Range merges here.

Wind can reach speeds of up to 30 knots making this the windsurfing capitol of the Northwest.

Yaquina Bay Bridge, USA

The graceful span of Yaquina Bay Bridge is framed by spruce and coastal pine as a 44 foot Coast Guard motor like boat heads for open sea.

Like many coastal Oregon bridges built during the Depression it was designed by state engineer Conde Mc Cullough.

With a span of 3.260 feet, it was completed in 1936, standing 245 feet at his highest point and 138 feet at deck level.
