Blue Ridge Parkway, USA

In 1935 construction began on the 469 mile Blue Ridge Parkway, requiring the creation of 26 tunnels along this route.

An uninterrupted corridor along a north south axis, the parkway was completed in sections over the next 52 years and is now an internationally recognized design achievement.
